Zion Reformed Church

Zion Church, located in Winesburg, OH, though one of the oldest churches in the state (established in the mid 19th century), was experiencing some major changes in direction with a new pastor, denomination, and church leadership. In a small community where it seems like everyone has a church already, it was important for Zion to have a web presence in case someone in or outside their community was looking for a church like theirs and to get the word out that Zion's focus was on the gospel of Christ.

“...traditional with an element of hip...”

Designwise produced a layout / brand that expressed “traditional with an element of hip” that Pastor Jason was going for. The stained-glass windows (photography compliments of Craig Moan), serif headings and church photo give the intended visual tie to traditional Christianity while the layered composition, liberal use of white space, subtle gradients, clean lines, and contrast-y (is that a word?) dark grays play on current trends in web design (element of hip). With regard to usability, an emphasis was placed on simplicity and ease of use, keeping the most important content at the forefront.

The final product came off quite nicely and was featured in CSS Beauty & Godbit, much to our delight.
